  • I wish you were here.

I like all of this song, but it's just the chorus line "I wish you were here," that keeps running through my mind.

UPDATE:   My wish came true!  *g*

  • My Costume Contest

I had my own private costume contest to pick the one I like best, from a company named Oriental Trading, to give me ideas for one to make.  These were my top picks:

I am partial to pirates.  But this one is masculine.

                                                                                          She's my favorite female version.

A lady Valkyrie would be cool.

I'd love to wear either of these to a Renaissance reenactment.

This one comes close to my true self.

       She's kinda close too.

But I am really just too partial to winged characters,

        Even butterfly wings.

                                                                So the winner is:

                                                               The Gothic Angel

I just need to add the rope around my neck, and I will feel like I look just like this:

I was searching for some music to go with this post and ran across this video, which has nothing really to do with the post, but I loved it and wanted to share it with you.  Hope you have a great day.  *g*

Thank you for all you've given me
    and done for me
    and been,
    I love you
    with the in love kind
    reserved especially for lovers.

Life is spinning by around me
    making things look blurry
but no doubt there is a pattern
leading where we want to be.

  • Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel

on the side of a hill in the deep forest green
tracing a sparrow on snow-crested ground
blankets and bedclothes a child of the mountains
sleeps unaware of the clarion call
on the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves
washes the grave with silvery tears
a soldier cleans and polishes a gun
war bellows, blazing in scarlet battalions
generals order their soldiers to kill
and to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten

    ************************************************************************************
I have always wondered what the 2nd round lyrics were in this, one of my favorite songs.  Google is great!

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
    Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine

Tell her to make me a cambric shirt
(on the side of a hill in the deep forest green)
    Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme
(tracing a sparrow on snow-crested ground)
    Without no seams nor needlework
(blankets and bedclothes a child of the mountains)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
(sleeps unaware of the clarion call)

Tell her to find me an acre of land
(on the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves)
    Parsely, sage, rosemary, & thyme
(washes the grave with silvery tears)
Between the salt water and the sea strand
(a soldier cleans and polishes a gun)
Then she'll be a true love of mine

Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather
                                         (war bellows)
                                              (( blazing in scarlet battalions))
    Parsely, sage, rosemary & thyme
(generals order their soldiers to kill)
And to gather it all in a bunch of heather
(and to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten)
Then she'll be a true love of mine

Are you going to scarborough fair?
    Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine

  • Wreck

    POSTDATE:

After I had the accident, I had to struggle to shake the idea that God was punishing me.  But now it has become clearer.  I do believe everything happens for a reason.  I think maybe God knew that I was going to need some more money to pay the bills this month.  Like a good neighbor State Farm is there!  I'm getting the driving parts of the car fixed, but they also paid for body work which I don't need on that old rusted tank anyway.  I need the electricity and water to my house a lot more.  And food.

I do hope to be starting my new job soon but there have been hold ups.  I'm trying to get my extra retirement money but they don't make it easy.  And I won't do any more work for my old job until I get it.  So for now, just thank God I have good credit and good insurance.  *g*

    *************************************************************************************************************

I wonder how many Xangans, after having a car accident, blog about it in one way or another.  I had one a few nights ago.  I am getting a bit creeped out by the number of times I have declared something lately, only to have it soon rebuked.  I mean, it was only a few days ago that I boasted about how I've never been the driver in any car wreck in my life.  Well... mark that one off the list.
No one was hurt badly, THANK  YOU GOD.  Though I was really lucky that the clip I put on my seat belt to give it slack on my neck, didn't rip my eyeball out.   And it's kind of amazing really, that my car (Toyota 4-Runner) had barely a scratch, while the other car is probably totaled, though I haven't heard anything from their insurance yet.  So she's now earned an official name- The Tank.
It's probably also pretty amazing that I didn't get a ticket.  I was changing lanes from the right hand to the left to make a left turn, but  there was a car in my blind spot that I ran into.  Their car went out of control and spun and swerved around a bit before it stopped, and their poor front wheel was busted all up and angled wrong and it had to be towed away.
Maybe the cop didn't give me a ticket cause I was crying fairly hysterically.  I told him I was from out of town and lost and I'm not used to driving in big cities, and I was looking for a convenience store and had just spotted one before I crashed.  But I did get calmed down before they left.  So after the ambulance and fire truck and tow truck and everybody left, I backed up and into the exit from a parking lot that was to  my right.  And there I sat for a very very long time waiting for the light to turn green.  But it never did.  I finally realized that it wasn't going to turn green until morning, when the parking lot behind  me opened.  I had to just sit and cry some more before I finally ran the red light and continued on to the store.

  • I am weak and somewhat meek
Not very brave or much to crave
I need your courage and your strength
to help me go to any length
to free my soul from capture
Free my heart to soar to rapture
