A Xanga Saga
I was first brought here
by a friend beloved and near,
an anonymous extension
to our home groups' prime intention.
Accepting that no more would grow,
the web held other places to go.
Out there I met and married,
but in my heart still carried
longings for my Xanga friends.
Most will be here till life ends,
and upon return, my husband followed.
His blog was sweet, but sadly wallowed,
beneath a shallow halo
and blarghy language woe.
We stood there on the brink of the spiraling abyss
trying hard to keep pretending that nothing was amiss.
But soon began the Xanga crushes,
with whose telling my face flushes.
They'll harshly kick you from their clique.
Was I psychic or psychotic?
May I never know
the truths of long ago.
Next the lure of instant chat
was really fun and more than that.
From across the deadly sea
friendly words would drift to me.
Then came dialogue with another,
one much like a little brother.
Empty, drunken nights swirled by
sharing on our own heart's cry.
Here are just a few more of my Xangarena:
Mother Mary Magdelena
dispensing healing love,
a sister sheds her hijab, like a molting dove,
big mean brothers bashing me,
creepier ones on a stalker spree,
one with unseen disability,
I pray his love quest's not futility.
Godless men who like debate,
I just try to ease the hate.
Brother bashing brother with a funny loving ring,
or shedding loving light on such complicated things.
Then one day, from the cloud in the sky,
just waayyy too strong to let pass by,
fell a tempting invitation,
leaving me in fascination.
I left without a backward glance
to test the waters of romance.
In the flesh we met, and flesh to flesh we shall remain.
I hope some day to tell his name.
My other person of significance,
found at last, in love's magnificence.
Ever since my now ex-husband moved out and I could move back in, I have been busy purging and reclaiming my house.
I have to take the blame though for most of the mess in this area because this is where I just kept shuffling so much stuff to.
But I have finally reached the table top. Now I have some space to work on making Christmas presents.
This box though, may take years to get all sorted out. (The items get smaller nearer the bottom of the box.)
It's going to have to wait till after I get finished with all of the Christmas presents. I hope to get them all wrapped and ready to deliver to my family next weekend when we are all together for my niece's wedding. It's been years since everyone was all in the same place at the same time. I'm really looking forward to it.
Your horoscope for November 8, 2008
This is not the day to do in-depth research of any kind, Catie, whether it's an intellectual subject or how to put together a new computer system. Your mind is not as focused as it usually is, and it might temporarily be difficult for you to grasp new concepts that you've never encountered before. This is no reflection on your intelligence - just one of those vague days we all have. By tomorrow, all should be normal again.

Hahaha. My horoscope for today seems to describe most days lately. Hopefully things will start to feel normal sometime soon.
