  • CiviBalls

I have a lot of free time these summer days.  I spend some of it trying to figure out this game.

    http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/civiballs.jsp

Basically, by using a sword to cut the chains, the balls do different things.  And other things affect them also, like in this one, the balls bounce in the water fountain.  You have to get the balls in the urns of the same color  This is just one of the levels in one of the three areas of the map.  I’ve worked this one before, but now I don’t remember how I did it.  It can get a bit frustrating, but it’s fun.  I even kind of like watching the little commercial before you can play.

  • Mattel is WRONG.

I’ve posted about this before.  This is an email I received.  It makes me angry.  No one should be allowed to own a word.  Super Duper is a great company that I have ordered materials from for many years.  I wish there was more I could do to help them.

Act NOW to Help Super Duper!
    ________________________________

Mattel Toy Company and four federal judges have taken seven registered trademark product titles that include the words “SAY” and “AND SAY” away from special needs Super Duper Publications, a company that for over 20 years has made educational speech and language therapy products for children with autism and other communication disorders. www.superduperinc.com

The Federal Judges Henry Floyd, Dennis Shedd, G. Stephen Agee, and Clyde Hamilton have ordered Super Duper to pay $1 million of its profits and $2.6 million in attorney’s fees to Mattel (a $5.4 billion a year company)

WHY? All because in 2004 Mattel decided people were likely to become confused between Super Duper’s SAY therapy materials and a toy Mattel made in 1963 called SEE ‘N SAY. Mattel also accused Super Duper of “riding on the coattails” of its toy by deliberately using the word SAY in order to make people think Super Duper’s special needs books, card decks, and games were made by Mattel. WHAT CAN YOU DO?

    • First, tell everyone you know about this outrageous situation.
    • Contact Mattel and tell them to have the courts to vacate the judgment against Super Duper, and then tell them to leave this special needs company alone. Contact info here.

IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO HELP, BUT TIME IS RUNNING OUT

    PLEASE ACT TODAY!

  • Vacation is almost here.  Although, I’ll still have a  few clients all summer, most of my schools are finished for the summer.  I can’t believe it’s been so long since I posted last.  I guess my work has consumed me.
To take up where I left off:

I finally traded in the tank for this bomber angel.

This was a Valentine’s Day card for my parents.

    And my brother’s family

    And my sister’s family

and a thank you card to my other sister’s family

I felt so bad about not getting around to getting a Mother’s Day card to my Mom, that I had this Father’s Day card in the mail to my Dad days ago.

These guys keep me company in my corner of the universe.

I hope everyone is having a great day.

  • Trying to get something done about this beast is frustrating the hell out of me.  It didn’t pass inspection because it
needs a new bumper and a few other things.  So we decided to sell or trade it.  And now I have so many responses on Craig’s list that it’s just overwhelming.  I’m sick of all the dead ends.  But I’ve been without a car since the beginning of the summer and I’m not giving up now.  Oh, and Happy New Year everyone.

  • It just didn’t seem like Christmas at all without a tree.  So, I had to at least make a little picture of one.  I’ll probably keep adding little things to it as I come across them.  I hope everyone is having a great holiday.

  • I posted this song last Christmas.  Still my favorite carol.

I made some Christmas cards for my family.  Sorry they’re so blurry.

This one is for the Disney collector.  You can flip it over and there’s another great picture of the castle on the other side.

Sometimes I wonder if I only make these things so I can show them on Xanga.

I wish everyone a joyous and blessed Christmas season.

  • Stamp Collecting

I’ve never really gotten into stamp collecting, except to cut them off envelopes and stuff them into a huge envelope I have.   I like these newest ones from the Post Office.  Sorry one is missing – You Bet Your Life.  (It went on the card to my Dad.)  If I ever get really bored, I may pull out my stamps and make a hobby of it.

  • I took a stroll over to the nearby mall recently.  Mainly, I had to get the card into the mail that I made for my Dad’s birthday.

Some of the views along the way were quite lovely.

Some are pretty ugly.  Like these apartments they are tearing down.

The sane part of me didn’t let me try to get out to the end of this branch.

Though it did look quite inviting.

    Have a nice Sunday everyone.
